The Bible states the absolutes that we can be certain of: the character of God, His love, His will that we be conformed to His Son’s likeness, His sovereign control of all the universe. -Elisabeth Elliot
Sukhothai means Dawn of Happiness or Emergence of Joy.
It reminds me of the plan God has for the people here. He wants to bring them joy that they don’t understand. Slowly, He’s working Himself into their hearts. He’s not a forceful God, but He does make sure His presence is known.
The more we’re able to surrender ourselves to Him, the more He can work in the people around us. When we open our hearts to receive more of Him, the Holy Spirit is able to push Himself into their hearts.
The verse in Joshua 1:3 says, "Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you." He promises to give us every place where we put our foot. He wants Sukhothai. He wants us to want Sukhothai.
He wants us to be so connected with Him that His joy, peace, and love overflow into our everyday lives; in our interactions with other people. This is such a big thing that we're missing in life most of the time. We get so caught up in our business; that we forget the connection part. The most vital part of our walk with God gets lost in what we perceive to be good.
We're working to fix that. Trying to be intentional about taking the time to build that relationship. When we connect with God, we're able to be an example to the kids on how they can do the same. Then they're able to show their friends.
One little piece of light can brighten a dark room. God has plans for the dawn of happiness in Sukhothai. He wants each and every heart so they can feel the joy that only He has to give. The everlasting joy that never ends.
